Bangladesh's Ministry of Religious Affairs has released its roadmap for the 2027 Hajj season, urging prospective pilgrims to complete registration by September 26. The schedule sets out a series of deadlines that will govern how Bangladeshi pilgrims prepare for the pilgrimage over the coming months.
The ministry said the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced the Hajj 2027 schedule at a ceremony in Jeddah on May 29 and handed the roadmap to religious affairs ministers of participating countries. Bangladesh's Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain, known as Kaikobad, attended the event, where the Saudi Assistant Minister for Hajj and Umrah, Dr Al Hassan bin Yahya Al Manakhrah, formally presented the plan.
Key dates in the roadmap
According to the roadmap, the bilateral Hajj agreement between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia will be signed on November 8, 2026. The agreement sets the terms under which Bangladeshi pilgrims travel and are hosted in the Kingdom.
The issuance of Hajj visas will begin on January 28, 2027. Hajj flight operations are scheduled to start on April 8, 2027. The pilgrimage itself is expected to fall on May 15, 2027, corresponding to 9 Dhul-Hijjah, subject to the sighting of the moon.
The ministry also detailed the timeline for the Masar Nusuk platform, the Saudi digital system through which service agreements and pilgrim data are processed. The transfer of Saudi-side expenses to the Masar Nusuk e-wallet will run from July 15 to December 24, 2026.
Service agreements and pilgrim data
The process of signing agreements for overall service packages, covering tents, accommodation in Makkah and Madinah, catering, and transportation through the Masar Nusuk platform, will begin on July 29, 2026 and continue until January 23, 2027. Pilgrims' information will have to be uploaded to the Masar Nusuk system between August 14, 2026 and January 28, 2027.
Agreements with airlines designated to carry Hajj pilgrims, along with the completion of necessary documentation in the Masar Nusuk system, will be carried out between July 29 and November 8, 2026. The ministry urged all concerned parties to complete Hajj-related activities in line with the announced roadmap.
Guidance for intending pilgrims
Bangladeshi pilgrims planning to travel in 2027 should treat the September 26 registration deadline as firm and avoid leaving the process to the final days. Those registering are advised to ensure their passports carry sufficient validity and that their personal details are accurate, since this information feeds directly into the Masar Nusuk system.
Pilgrims should also budget carefully and confirm the details of the service package they select, including accommodation location and catering, before committing. Choosing a licensed agency and retaining all receipts and confirmations helps protect pilgrims against disputes later.
Because the roadmap ties visas, flights, and services to fixed dates, staying in regular contact with the chosen Hajj agency and monitoring official ministry announcements will help pilgrims avoid missing critical steps. Early medical checks and required vaccinations are also worth arranging well ahead of the visa issuance window that opens in January 2027.
The role of Masar Nusuk
The roadmap places the Masar Nusuk platform at the heart of the 2027 process. Introduced by Saudi Arabia to manage the pilgrimage for many countries outside the Gulf, the system consolidates service contracting, payments, and pilgrim records in one digital channel. For Bangladesh, this means agencies must complete accommodation, catering, transport, and airline agreements through the platform within the windows the ministry has set.
The reliance on a single digital system raises the importance of accurate data entry. Errors in a pilgrim's information, or delays in uploading it during the August-to-January window, can hold up visa issuance later. Bangladeshi agencies and pilgrims alike will need to work closely to ensure records are complete and correct well before the January 28 visa start date, so that flight operations from April can proceed smoothly.
