The Haj Committee of India has opened online registration for the Hajj 2027 season and set a firm closing date of July 20, 2026. Applicants must apply before 11:59 pm on that day, after which a digital random selection process will decide who advances toward the pilgrimage.
The committee has stressed that the timeline is fixed and that key deadlines will not be extended, making early and accurate application essential for Indian Muslims hoping to perform Hajj in 2027.
How to Apply
Registration opened on June 22, 2026, and closes on July 20, 2026. Applications are accepted online only, either directly through the Haj Committee of India or through the State Haj Committees. Pilgrims can also use the Haj Suvidha app to complete their applications.
Every applicant needs an Indian international machine-readable passport that remains valid through at least December 31, 2027. Importantly, the passport must already be issued by the application deadline, so pilgrims cannot apply on the promise of a passport still in process.
The Kurra Selection and Payment
Because demand routinely exceeds the seats available, the committee uses a digital random selection process known as the Kurra. According to the Haj Committee, the Kurra will be conducted in the last week of July 2026.
Every applicant provisionally selected through the Kurra must then deposit an advance of 152,300 rupees by August 10, 2026. The committee has confirmed there will be no relaxation or extension on that deadline. Missing the payment date means forfeiting the provisional selection, so shortlisted pilgrims should arrange funds in advance.
Quota and Private Operators
For Hajj 2027, the Haj Committee of India has been allocated 122,518 seats, while private tour operators handle a further 52,507 places. Together these define the scale of India's Hajj mission for the season.
The split gives pilgrims two routes. Those who prefer the government-managed process apply through the Haj Committee, while others may choose approved private operators, typically at a higher cost but with different service arrangements. Pilgrims should verify that any private operator is officially recognised before paying.
Practical Tips for Indian Pilgrims
- Apply before the July 20, 2026 deadline, as it will not be extended.
- Make sure your passport is already issued and valid through at least December 31, 2027.
- Keep the 152,300 rupee advance ready in case you are selected in the Kurra, since the August 10 payment deadline is firm.
- Use the official Haj Committee portal or the Haj Suvidha app rather than unofficial intermediaries.
- If choosing a private operator, confirm the operator is officially approved for Hajj 2027.
- Complete required vaccinations, including the quadrivalent meningitis (ACYW) vaccine, well before travel.
With a fixed application window and strict payment deadlines, Indian pilgrims who prepare their documents and finances early will be best placed to secure a seat and focus on the spiritual journey ahead.
