Pakistan will begin mandatory registration for Hajj 2027 later this month, the country's Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) has announced, urging all intending pilgrims to secure valid travel documents without delay. The move comes as Saudi Arabia begins early preparations for the 1448 AH pilgrimage season and presses participating nations to align with a tightened operational calendar.
What the Ministry Announced
According to a statement issued by MoRA, preparations for Hajj 2027 will begin immediately in line with instructions from Saudi authorities. The ministry confirmed that registration will be compulsory for anyone wishing to perform the pilgrimage next year. "The Ministry of Religious Affairs has indicated that mandatory registration for Hajj 2027 will begin later this month," the statement said.
A valid Pakistani passport is central to the process. The ministry said passports must remain valid until November 16, 2027, and advised prospective pilgrims to obtain or renew their documents as soon as possible to avoid missing the registration window. Officials stressed that this requirement applies equally to overseas Pakistanis who intend to perform Hajj.
Registered applicants will later be able to choose between the government scheme and the private Hajj scheme. Details on package costs, terms and conditions are expected to be released under the forthcoming national Hajj policy.
