Turkish Airlines has opened a new promotional campaign aimed at Umrah travellers departing from the United States, offering round-trip fares from 799 US dollars for bookings made between 1 July and 16 August 2026. The move reflects a broader trend of international carriers building dedicated products around religious travel as demand for Umrah continues to climb.
According to Focus on Travel News, the discounted fares apply to eligible travel between 1 September and 19 November 2026, a period that falls comfortably outside the Hajj season and within the quieter autumn months in Makkah and Madinah.
How the Offer Works
The campaign is available from all 14 US gateways served by Turkish Airlines, with passengers connecting through Istanbul Airport before continuing to the holy cities. The airline is offering open-jaw itineraries that allow travellers to arrive in Madinah and depart from Jeddah, a routing that suits the natural flow of a pilgrimage that often begins with a visit to the Prophet's Mosque before moving to Makkah.
Turkish Airlines said the single-airline itinerary lets pilgrims choose their departure point across the US while keeping one carrier for the whole journey. The airline noted that campaign prices are valid on eligible bookings made during the promotional period, and that fares shown on its website may differ from those offered through travel agencies or ticket offices.
Added Services for Pilgrims
As part of the campaign, the carrier is providing an amenity kit designed for Umrah passengers that converts into a backpack and contains practical items for the trip. Eligible travellers may also make use of two established transit programmes in Istanbul. Passengers with layovers of more than 20 hours may qualify for complimentary hotel accommodation through the Stopover in Istanbul programme, while those connecting for between 6 and 24 hours can join Touristanbul, which offers free guided city tours before the onward flight.
A Growing Market for Religious Travel
Umrah can be performed throughout the year and draws millions of Muslims outside the annual Hajj. Airlines have responded by expanding dedicated fares and services, positioning major hubs as gateways between distant markets and the two holy cities. Turkish Airlines has cast its Istanbul hub as a bridge between North America and the Middle East, allowing a single-stop connection to Saudi Arabia.
Pilgrims weighing the offer should compare the total cost against direct or alternative routings, factor in the open-jaw arrival in Madinah and departure from Jeddah when planning ground transport, and confirm that travel dates fall within the eligible window. As always, booking flights should be coordinated with the Nusuk hotel and transport reservations now required before an Umrah visa is issued, so that visa timing and flight dates line up. Travellers should verify all fare conditions directly with the airline before booking.
