Seven international airlines are relocating their operations to the Hajj and Umrah Terminal at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah during the first half of October 2026, according to a notice published by the airport. The staggered move, reported by Wego, is intended to improve the flow of operations and the passenger experience for travelers passing through the Kingdom's main pilgrimage gateway.
The change affects carriers that previously operated from the airport's North Terminal. The airport said the relocation would take place gradually between October 1 and October 15, with each airline assigned a specific date.
Which Airlines Are Moving
According to Wego, the seven carriers shifting to the Hajj and Umrah Terminal are Tarco Aviation, Yemenia, SCAT Airlines, Uzbekistan Airways, Daallo Airlines, Somon Air and Sudan Airways. The moves are scheduled on separate dates to avoid disruption.
- Tarco Aviation - October 1
- Yemenia - October 8
- SCAT Airlines - October 10
- Uzbekistan Airways - October 12
- Daallo Airlines - October 13
- Somon Air - October 14
- Sudan Airways - October 15
The airport announced the relocation through its official account on the platform X on September 30, 2026. It is a separate development from Terminal 4, which opened at the same airport on September 27 to expand overall passenger capacity.
What It Means for Travelers
King Abdulaziz International Airport is the primary arrival point for pilgrims traveling to Makkah for Umrah and, in season, for Hajj. The Hajj and Umrah Terminal is designed to handle the specific needs of pilgrim traffic, and consolidating these carriers there is aimed at smoothing the journey for worshippers.
The airport advised that some tickets may still display the North Terminal even after the move takes effect. Passengers are therefore encouraged to confirm their departure and arrival terminal directly before traveling, rather than relying solely on older booking documents.
Practical Tips for Pilgrims
Travelers booked on any of the affected airlines in October should take a few precautions to avoid confusion at the airport. Check your terminal with your airline close to your travel date, since printed tickets may not reflect the relocation.
- Arrive with extra time during the transition period, as operations settle into the new terminal.
- Confirm transport arrangements to and from the correct terminal, especially if a driver or group is meeting you.
- Keep booking confirmations accessible on your phone to verify details quickly if needed.
With the Umrah season active, the terminal changes are part of continuing efforts at Jeddah's airport to manage pilgrim traffic more efficiently as arrivals continue throughout the year.
