Before You Begin

You're about to change your life. This journey is one of the five pillars of Islam, and we want you to feel confident and prepared.

  • It's OK if you don't know anything about Hajj - this guide starts from the very beginning.
  • It's OK if you feel you're not knowledgeable about Islam - everything is explained clearly.
  • No question is ever a silly question - curiosity is a virtue on this journey.

Abu Hurairah (RA) reported that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever performs Hajj for the sake of Allah and does not utter any obscene speech or do any evil deed, will go back (free of sin) as his mother bore him."

Sahih al-Bukhari 1521

Why Hajj?

وَأَتِمُّوا الْحَجَّ وَالْعُمْرَةَ لِلَّهِ

"And complete the Hajj and 'Umrah for Allah."

- Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:196

Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam - an obligation upon every Muslim who is physically and financially able to undertake the journey at least once in their lifetime.

The Prophet ﷺ was asked: "What is the best deed?" He said: "To have faith in Allah and His Messenger." "What next?" "To strive in the cause of Allah." "What is the next best thing?" He replied: "An accepted Hajj (Hajj Mabrur)."

Sahih al-Bukhari 1519, Sahih Muslim 83
